CRO audit for Shopify stores
OrderLeak audits a Shopify store like any public page: from its address, with no app to install and no access to your admin. Here is what is specific to Shopify, and how the audit accounts for it.

How a Shopify store is audited
You give up to four pages of your store: the homepage, a collection, a product page. Each is captured in full, on desktop and mobile, and its code is read. Nothing is installed on your store and no access to the Shopify admin is requested.
The cart and checkout can't be reached by an address: add screenshots of them, and they are analysed on the same axes. A password-protected store only shows its login page; there too, use screenshots.
The theme: what it imposes, what it allows
On Shopify, most obstacles come from how the theme is configured, not from code. The homepage sections, the order of a product page's blocks, the size of banner images: all of it is set in the theme editor.
That is why OrderLeak's recommendations describe what to change on screen (move the button, shorten the banner, bring the reviews up) rather than code to write. Most can be fixed without a developer.
The product page
This is where the add-to-cart decision is made, and it is often on mobile that it loses the most. The audit checks in particular:
- whether the "Add to cart" button is visible without scrolling on a phone, or pushed below the gallery;
- whether a button stays within reach while the visitor scrolls the photos;
- whether the price, the variants (size, colour) and the button read as one clear unit;
- whether reviews, shipping and returns are visible near the price;
- whether the page exposes structured product data (price, availability, rating) in its code.
Third-party apps
Each Shopify app (reviews, chat, pop-ups, tracking) usually adds its own scripts to the store. The audit lists the third-party scripts each page loads and their weight, and spots the pop-ups and banners that cover the content on arrival.
When Chrome's real-visitor speed data exists for your store, the report uses it and compares it with Google's published thresholds. When it doesn't, the report says nothing about speed.
Checkout
Shopify's checkout can be customised very little outside the Shopify Plus plan. The obstacles you can remove there are therefore mostly upstream: reassure before buyers get there (shipping, returns, payment methods), don't reveal shipping costs at the last step, keep the cart clear. With screenshots of the cart and checkout, the audit examines them like the other pages.
What you receive
A report online and as a PDF, delivered in 15 to 20 minutes: a score out of 100 per device and per axis, every obstacle located on the capture with its evidence and a recommendation, the three fixes to make first, and a 30, 60 and 90-day plan. If you give your traffic, conversion rate and average order value, the estimated gain is stated as an amount; otherwise it stays a percentage.
